Anyone installed holding tank gauges (floats) or otherwise into stainless steel tanks? I have two heads in my DS43 and I am considering installing a guage to let us know when holding tanks are about full.

I haven't fitted one to my tank, but chances are if I was to fit a gauge I'd probably get one of these www.gobius.se/fmmarin/

Thanks! I did not know they made gauges for stainless steel tanks. I plan to get one right away and will report back on how it works.

When I looked the gobies was very expensive. I got a different make from a U.S. Website and it has worked very well since fitted 2 seasons ago. I can't remember the name but will be back on the boat in about 10 days if you want to wait until then

Hello all,
I installed the Gobius gauge 4 or 5 years ago on the 20 US gallon stainless steel tank in my 2004 SO35. I sail in the Great Lakes (Georgian Bay), so only a 5 month sailing season.
It has worked very well since I installed it. Installation and programming is easy. I re-calibrate it at the beginning of each season (also very easy to do). It is normally turned off, and I turn it on only when I want to check the tank level.
It has 3 sensors that you adhere to the exterior of the tank. These vibrate periodically when the unit is on, and sense when the level has reached the position of each sensor. In my case, I stuck the sensors at the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 positions. When the 3/4 light comes on, I know it's time to head to the service dock.
I agree it is expensive. But I have been very pleased. No regrets.
Hope this helps.
John
