Hello everybody. I recently joined the forum. I am the proud owner of a 1990 Tonic 23. I am in need of a owners manual. I have looked on the web and have not had any luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have owned my 86 Tonic for about a year. The PO stated it was a french built boat and he was the first owner. The package he gave mostly consisted of sales flyers and some spec sheets. Nothing that looks like an owners manual. My last boat was a Catalina 27 and that had a very detailed owners manual (OM). I suspect the OM for my Tonic was in french and metric and just got tossed by the dealer. I have dropped the mast and replaced the centerboard and replaced most all the running rigging. The P/O had the motor well glassed over and mounted the motor on a stern mount. Any questions I'l be glad to help. Mine is a really nice sailing boat. BTW I'm on the Ches. bay in Va. ecl

THIS will get you to an older Jeanneau link with the info on a tonic. BUT, it is all in French! Nut an OM is in the mix. Might be able to copy/paste into a translator and figure out what it says. Marty

Thank you guys. I appreciate the help. Although as you said the literature is in French The pictures were of great help especially of the centerboard. I do have a question concerning the centerboard. I took the table off and saw water inside the fiberglass tube holding the lines to raise the centerboard. I was shocked for a minute being that I never owned a keel centerboard boat before. I always believed you should keep the water outside the boat not in. Although the boat sat on the hard for 5 years I am able to raise and lower the centerboard. Being that I sail in the Great South Bay in skinny water I want to make sure I know the centerboard is in the up position. I do not want to force anything, so how do I know if the centerboard is in the up position.

THe water in the tubes and CB houseing, should be level with the waterline of the boat. This is normal from boats I have had in the past with CB's, or daggerboards.

Raise your centerboard. The take a magic marker and mark your line where it touches the winch. When raising the centerbaord you will know when you are reaching the upper limit. I replaced my CB last year and did not grind enough off the trailing edge and it sometimes gets stuck in the keel if I winch it up tight. With the mark I know when to stop winching up the CB. Eddie

Hi Pavel Try an email to service.client@jeanneau.fr Include your hull number and year of build The French language version is quite limited though, you can download that by following the link www.jeanneau.fr/previous/?category=sailboat
