I have the nice soft white interior leather cushions in the main cabin salon. Are these really leather? Anyone find a good product for cleaning these? 3 dogs that are accustomed to using furniture has left me in a bit of need and simple green or 409 doesn't seem to work to my satisfaction. ?

We changed our saloon covers last winter from the standard leathete which we found very sticky in the heat summer heat of Spain. I think the standard Jeanneau cover is a form of Alcantarer.
The sail maker used a Sunbrella product of a similar light colour. The cover nearest the galley became a bit dirty over the first few weeks of the summer so we washed the cover in a cool wash last week and it has come out really clean with no shrinkage. We are very pleased. Ian

We usually use only soap and water but on the toughest dirt we do us a Magic Sponge and with very little water and they come out perfect.. After we treat with a quality surface protectant . I use the stuff made for my Mercedes Benz Car leather, there are other options of course, I hope these steps work out for you Bill

We are also fed up with the leatherette and want to change to fabric but on the 39i at least the cushion sizes bear no relation with the wooden locker lids,. I am thinking about changing at least the woodwork so that we have proper locker lids - like they do in Bavaria's

Hi All; The saloon cushion covers on 2006 manufactured boats( based on what I saw at the London Boat Show all models were the same) are almost certainly transfer coated polyurethane onto a knitted base. They will be wipe clean from most soiling but ink , food stains etc should be avoided and should be cleaned immediately On my SO32i the saloon cushions are full length so when I choose to use a locker whole cushion has to come off and yes the lids need modified
When it is time to re-cover I will ask the upholsterer to split cushions and will cover over the top of the current white PU leaving it in situ as a waterproof cover For recovering any quality upholstery fabric will suffice ideally with a fluorocarbon finish depending on ones taste and budget
On the topic :Last year I established the price of a set of replacement cushions for the cabins and immediately had some waterproof passage covers made : these have proven their worth already.
We now use some low cost memory foam mattress toppers in the aft cabin: now that is sailing...............
