Here's an interesting factoid: the Raymarine Tridata and its repeater are the same instrument, with different rear covers! The repeater doesn't include the sensor ports on its back cover, but, pull the cover off, there they are! How do I know this? Well, Voyageur suffered an "internal lightning strike" a few weeks ago. Her Tridata at the starboard helm indicated nothing, so nothing was repeated at the port helm. Being an electronics geek, I took them both home and disassembled them on my workbench. I discovered their similarity, swapped the rear covers, and now have a mostly-functioning Tridata unit at the starboard helm (which is where it's most needed, when navigating harbors under power). SeaTalk doesn't work on this unit at the moment, though. You settle for what you can get.
The new Airmar NMEA2K sensor goes in when the boat is hauled at the end of the season.
