We have the C-warm boiler with the pressure release valve with the grey turning knob. There is also a version with a red knob. I wonder which one is the CW414 and which one is the CW415, since I think I have to order a new one.
The problem occured a year ago that is started to constantly release water. Then I ordered a new valve but it appeared to be the wrong one (supplier mixed the numbers). So I decided to clean the original and reinstall it. It looked like the problem was over but since spring this year the problem returned. Now I wonder is the problem within the valve itself or could it be that for some reason the pressure in the system is increased. I can imagine that the waterpump pressure reduces due to ageing of the pump, but an increase is ulikely.
Anybody who faced the same problem and solved it by replacing the valve? Could it be that the spring tension in the valve is reduced?

Tim from Jabsoshop.com told me it might be the pump which is faulty. When the pumps high pressure switch is not functioning as it should the pump keeps running untill it stalls. Now I wonder, if this is the case, what caused the problem. Could it be that accidently running it dry has destroyed the switch. I can imagine that would harm the diaphragm but not the switch. Anyone has an idea?

This boiler operate under low pressure, valve open on 2.5 bar. You must install expansion vessel othervise with HI temp water opening safety valve and start leaking. There is always some calk on rubber that make problem. Valve is not made that opening constantly (working) only if HP is present. Check your pum pressure and adjust on 1.5-1.7 bar Is two safety valve but i think is pipe dimensiondifferent. Don't mount any other type valve is to dangerous. www.tek-tanks.com/boattanks/calofiers/hot-water-expansion/

It is an excisting system with an expansion vessel. The boiler is max rated at 3bar and this is also the nominal setting of the valve. So according to the C-Warm installation manual this is designed correctly.
Any idea if dry running the pump could have caused the pump pressure switch to mall-function? In that case I will focus on that issue first. I would expect this would only harm the pump diaphragm.

Maybe is problem with expansion bottle if there is membran broken or expansion vessel is too small for this amount of water. Try install manometer that see if pressure rise when boiler is on this is simple solution.

I had the same problem on my C-Warm boiler. It used to have a Braukmann relief valve with a pressure and thermo relief function. The spring on the valve was very weak. This is what it looked like when I took it off: www.009dutch.nl/jeanneau/569_02_05_13_9_43_50.jpegIt leaked very slightly but caused the water pump to kick in regularly. The bilge filled up very slowly. Consultation with the technical staff of the repair firm in our marina learned that the water pump is set at about 2 bar, and the pressure release at 3 bar. They advised to fit a simple pressure release valve which opens at 3 bar, without the thermic function. It is what they always install in such cases. If the temperature would rise above boiling point, the pressure will rise with it and it will blow off normally. Edit: this picture shows the new one, not the Braukmann one. www.009dutch.nl/jeanneau/569_02_05_13_9_42_01.jpegI fitted a simple valve produced under the brand name of Duco. It has been in for several years now without any problem.

This is safety valve from central heating on pictures opening pressure is about 3 - 3.5 bar closing 2.2 bar, but must find why valve opening in normal situation this valve never open, same on central heating but if open mostly you must change with new one ,there is sediment + ruber with groove from valve pin. This valve cost few € and can find in shop for central heating. On domestic boilers are safety valve 8 -10 bar opening pressure don't install this one.

I will do some testing this weekend to be sure it is not the pump, but main suspection is with the release valve. The valves are on stock so I will most probably install a new one. Thanks a lot for all the advise.
BTW our valve is the same as the one on the photo.

when I had the same problem with hot water blow off it turned out to be the pressure switch on the pump
it is a common failure as the bottom bearing starts to leak slightly all over switch which eventually corrodes and seizes up

I replaced the valve and the problem is solved. The new valve is an upgraded model and it was easy noticed that the spring tension is higher then the original one. Glad to know it is not the pump.

Hi Marien,
Just have the same problem. The pressure relief valve of my C-warm water heater is continuously flowing after the water has been warmed by running the motor. Now it is all the time. thanks for your description. Will order a new valve.

Hi Marien,
Please advise the brand and part number you installed. Also, since the pipe threads are BST on my water heater (califier) I will likely need to order from the UK. Can you provide any contact information for the supplier you obtained the valve from? Fair Winds, Alan from Lake Michigan USA, salt free and no sharks.

Hi Alan,
The valve was purchased via internet at jabscoshop.com. I ordererd the 3bar version, the CW415. It was delivered to Holland so I suppose they deliver to the US as well. I have no idea about the thread so I suggest you contact Tim by e-mail. He was very helpfull.

He ordered an immersion coil for me when mine burnt out a couple of years ago.

Hi Marien, thank you for the information. I will post on forum all part data once I finish the repair. Alan Would be great to see the followup. Also, does anyone have a new link to techdownloads form jeanneauamerica? All I get to to corp page with info on new boats. Or actual contact information for Gilles form JA?
