Hi, The portside hull window on our SO37 2004 starts leaking. Before it gets any worse I want to take it out check what's going on and remount it. I hope there is anybody who can explain me how the window is fitted and what to expect. I don't want to end up with surpises ones I start the job. It is a fixed window on the inside it shows 12 screws all around. It looks like there is a bezzel which is bolted from the inside.
Anybody has an idea if this is a simple DIY job for the weekend.

Hi Trevor, I read the post and as I expected it appears to be a simple job I can do myself. Did you remove the port light completely or just filled the gap with sealant? I will remove anyway since I am not sure the new compount will mate with the old one and besides of that I am not sure where it is leaking. I am just in time now that the woodwork is not damaged but I hope this counts for the laminate as well.

No it is no condens. It appears on 1 port light only whilst the glas is dry. The only concern I have is when I remount the port light and tight the screws will I squeeze all sealant out between both surfaces or just install them finger tight and torque them after the sealant is dry.

Hi Marien,
I removed the entire window and it was a very simple installation. I simply tightened it down and let the sealant ooze out. It fixed the problem completely as on a port tack the window used to leak and after the repair it didn't leak anymore. The problem was obvious to see when the window was being removed and the repair pretty easy.
I am not sure if the windows are exactly the same as the SO36i but if it is you will not have any problems resolving the problem.
Regards

Trevor thanks for the answer. I will do the job in a weekend later in June. I suppose Sikaflex will have the right sealant for the job.
