My year 2000 SO 40DS presented my with a not so nice surprise. Oil leaked from bottom of combined 12volt electric motor/drive shaft for anchor windlass. Leroy-Somer motor/drive is below deck in wood panel boxed-out enclosure in forward V-berth overhead. Windlass is directly above, immediately aft of anchor chain storage in the most forward space of the bow.
The motor/drive is painted green. Manufacturer's metal plate says: Leroy Somer, Made in France, Reducteur No. _____, Type _____, Reduction ________. I will need to return with a mirror to read text stamped into y the metal label, to fill in those 3 blanks.
Label also reads: "materiel lubrifie a vie" : which I fear may mean: "no replaceable seals and way to refill with oil" . . . . .
There is also a sticker with the number: "10216"
Have any other Jeanneau Owners had experience with this equipment and/or know where I might find replacement parts?
here in Michigan, U.S.A. we are now preparing our boats for Spring launch after a long and cold Winter!
