Hi I have recently purchased a 2002 SO 37 and decided to upgrade the original Eno oven to a new Neptune oven which requires a size including gimbals of 485mm.Dimension E. The Eno dimension E is 500mm.
My question is does anyone have the Cooker opening aperture (i.e. the size of the opening where the oven fits minus the gimbal mounting blocks) size so I can make the gimbal mounting block thickness to suit the new oven width size.
Obviously I could measure the opening on my boat but it's a 5 hour round trip to get to the boat.
I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance
Regards gerry

Gerry, I went through this too, I replaced the Eno with a Seaward Princess 2 burner. It fit just fine. The Eno was mounted with a wooden block at the sides. That made the gimbal mounts a bit smaller than the cut out. I removed the wooden blocks and remounted the gimbals. This was in our 2000 SO 37. I posted the picture on Hints and Tips, it's labeled Galley Upgrade. Dennis Chumu SO37

Hi Chumu,
Thanks for the reply What I am trying to determine is what size I have to make the wooden mounting blocks for the new cooker because it is 15mm smaller in width than the Eno. Obviously if I could measure the existing mounting blocks I would reduce them by 7.5mm each...but I do not have that measurement and that is what I am looking for if anybody can tell me?
Thanks Again Gerry

Gerry, I just looked up the owners manual for my stove, it lists the overall dimension of the outside of the swivel points as 21 3/8 ( US of course ) which is 543mm for the rest of the world. It specifies the cutout as 543 to 549mm. On my boat this fit into the opening without any shims. ( 2000 SO37 ) The other implications I went through involved the height of the mounting and the distance from the front to back ( of the cooker ). It needs to swivel without hitting the crash bar and without the propane fitting hitting the back of the cutout. It was a tiny bit of trial and error when I did this. I removed the small crash bar that came with the boat and replaced it with a more robust one that I mounted slightly further away from the cooker. You might double check the dimensions of your stock crash bar, it's made for the smaller Eno unit if I remember right. Good luck, Dennis
