Wondering if folks have recommendations on US online or retail sites for basic Yanmar engine parts (3YM30)... filters, belts, impellers, etc?
Looking to put together a pre-season stockpile. Thanks!

I know of a place in Seattle, Wa. Question would be, where in the US are you? I've had good service from these folks. www.gallerymarine.com/#galleryhome.htmlBut I have to admit, there are a number of other places around that sell parts. These folks are handy from where I work, play etc. If you do a google search, you will find many places near and far. marty

Not sure where you are located, but Yamar has a long list of parts dealers. Contact them

One of the problems with Yanmar parts is that they want you to deal with the local guy. We had a great supplier in Miami and when we needed a part when we were up the east coast of the USA, Cheaspeake Bay I think, we sent them an email and order and they told us they could not help us that we had to go through the local dealer.
It will be interesting this year as we are ordering parts this year, as spares, and we are in Tunisia but we are visiting family in Colorado and will ask that they ship them there for our pick up. I would bet they will not supply the parts.

One of the problems with Yanmar parts is that they want you to deal with the local guy. You say "problem" I say "opportunity". I use my local guy and I'm very happy with him. I believe in supporting the local guy because at some point you're going to need his help and if he's out of business then you're out of luck. When he works on my boat he takes the time to explain what he's doing and show me how to efficiently maintain the engine. So if it costs me a couple of extra dollars for an oil filter I'm ok with that. Actually, he usually gives me stuff like spare oil filters for free. Life is a series of relationships, cherish it!

SO36idavid -- what i met by problem is that as full time crusiers we do not have a "local dealer" after we left Miami. Agree with you on having the local dealer help as when we were in Miami our local Yanmar was great and really worked with us but when we needed a part in say Long Island Sound they were not allowed to ship it to us as we had to use the local dealer there. Same in the Cheaspeake when we wanted something there. So to us without a "local dealer" now it is a problem.
As information, I did contact the guys in Miami and because the boat is in Tunisia they will ship to a Colorado address for us to pick up and bring back to Tunisia.

I'm in Miami, what local guy did you use? Im in need of spares soon too. Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Scott Scott -- we used Austral International. They on on South River Drive. They really know their stuff and were incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. example - We blew an engine fuse; there are 2 of them. I went in and told them what i needed and they got me one in a couple of days. I got it went back to the boat and it did not fit. Went back and they said ok it must be the other one and took the one back and got the other one. It did not fit. So this time i got really smart and took the blown one back and they said "hummm" and called Yanmar and spent a lot of time on the phone with them and finally said nope the fuse you have is not standard. They told me to take it to an autoparts store and try there. I did and they did.

Could try theses guys: We were going to get them to supply to Aus but really didn't have enough items to warrant postage. Have kept details for when we want a bigger order.
