I'm cruising the Pacific in our 49Ds and the only piece of equipment lacking is a washing machine. Could any 49ds owners comment on the following: 1) What has been your experience with the factory machine (top loader) fitted under the nav station seat? 2) What is the make and model of the factory machine? 3) Has anyone fitted a front loader anywhere else on a 49Ds and, if so, where and how (the cabin doors are quite narrow)?

I have a candy 3.5kg compact washing machine in my 50DS, it's 510mm wide and fits neatly in the closet in fwd cabin. Had to remove the doorframe to get it into the fwd cabin, but instalation was easy, just a little word work to make a base. If you would like pictures just ask. rgds ab

Thanks AB, I'm a tad concerned that 3.5 may be too small. How have you found it?

Hi yes its only 3.5kgs but most of our laundry only needs a short wash so its quick, and even runs on our 2.5kw combi inverter (pure sine wave). I actually bought a 600mm wide but only 400mm deep machine but couldnt work out where to install it so got this one in Gibraltar, so far very happy and its very quiet. rgrds ab Attachment Deleted

No, I bought a small portable which worked for the period we were in Fiji.
