Do any of you have a "business" card for your boat? I want one as something to hand out to cruisers I meet whom I want to keep in contact with and of course for bikini babes I might meet (In my dreams). Much nicer than writing an email on a scrap of paper. Just been playing on a Swedish site for ordering cards and this is the design I am liking Front Back In case I get a sat phone I left the design of the back with space to add the number. I thought about adding the call sign, but don't know why anyone would need it???

If you want to attract bikini babes, get a key fob of Ferrari, Bentley or Lamborghini and chuck that on the bar, whilst casually sitting down......I think that works better than a "business card".

We have cards with boat info on one side and house info on the other side. It helped quite a bit when we were cruising in the EU, helping people understand our French address pronounced in an American accent. Here in Florida it is also quite useful. We made them up in MS word, and print off a sheet of 12 every quarter or so.
The boat info includes the MMSI, call sign, and mobile phone , plus a photo of the boat and one email address. Home info includes home address and phone, and another email address.

in 8 years we have gone through almost 2 boxes. they are great to remember other cruisers by. we keep a small receipe folding file and put the ones we get in it after making a note where we met them and anything that they remark that make them more personal like kids or grandchildren or past job or plans.

We've used cards for years and they save a lot of time. Hoppy, I like your design with the two sided information & pictures. I may want to revisit my card design.

Here's the card I use. Mostly, it's to help people contact me for a free vessel safety inspection. Since no one is likely to use your call sign to call, putting it on your card won't help them. But if you leave your card by your radio and you have a guest aboard, it might make it easier for them to make a call. Don

Hoppy? Didn't you just note that you have a printer on your boat? There are a number of manufacturers of tear-off business cards for use with inkjet and laser printers. Geoff

Geoff I was in a store today buying label paper and I noticed a pack of business card paper. I think they look not so flash, not that it matters as they are not being created for a business.

As a German I opted for a different approach to business cards for "Zanshin". If the people I hand them out to don't like the card, they can at least use the card to keep moisture from tables:
(hmm. I can't find a picture of the backside, it is of "Zanshin" anchored in Dominica with Fort Shirley in the background)

That reminds me of times where I was working in Africa where they were selling TP by the single pane.

Even on Zanshin I suspect that keeping a ready supply of "cards" to hand out by the roll might be a bit much. The Africa approach might be be better

At least you know people would have a few spare moments to take in all of your details. That is brilliant! Print all of your details on dunny roll!!

People gave them to us so we decided to buy some ourselves. For about $20 we bought around 200 and have given out about three. However I still think it is a great idea. I am just sorry we didn't put our MMSI number on as suggested by these posts. For the price I think they are a great idea. I tried uploading our card, but I am having problems. Really think this is a good idea. I now use it as my professional card depending whom I am talking to.

Speaking as a retired police officer, don't put your home address on a boat card. It just advertises the fact that your house may be unoccupied!

Thank you for the post about the address. a Point you should remember is that done on printer the ink is that water dissolves the writing. Done professionally is a better way, just reminding..
