I'm in the proccess of making our salon table smaller, more like a cocktail table. Also removed the floor under the table to see what kind of storage space might be under there. OMG! Can easily fit 6-8 cases of beer/soda or what ever in there? . I'm going to hinge the 3 different floor boards to have easy access. I'm sure the space under the nav table has the same extra space. Just gotta figure out how to remove the table and pedestal. Has any other 43DS owners gained this extra space?

Don't have a 43DS but have to agree there's scads of space in the floors of our boat too. I've also been wondering about making the space under the table more convenient to access. It's also struck me that a really ambitious person could replace the forward water tank in our boat with 2-3 smaller tanks lower, better centered than the big one up front.
(Don't forget to account for labels coming off and blocking bilge pumps/limber holes, if you're storing foodstuffs etc. in the floors.)

I haven't done this, but did note the amount of space available. There is a LOT of unused space in a 43DS that is not easily accessable.
My wife is encouraging me to reduce the amount of stuff in our life (on the boat and in the house), so I am not looking for more storage, but I would like to improve access to a few locations, and under the cabin table is one of them. I have a project on my list to cut holes in the bottoms of the storage lockers under the table, fore and aft. This would give very good access to extra storage, and also to my AC pump and watermaker.

we have a jeanneau ds40 and when we were in cartagena colombia we had 3 deep drawers under the salon table and 2 drawers under the nav table. added a lot of storage for us which we of course immediately filled with cruising guides, pilot charts, boat papers ect. oh and guys did such a great job with the coloring that they look original as if the boat came with them.
