I'm looking at installing some Stainless Steel wear plates on the fiberglass just outside the dockline chocks on our SO45. One option is to custom fabricate some plates, but of course there are some pre-fab options.. Particularly I found two, both of which advertise on this site in the hints/tips page that look identical.. It would seem that one of these vendors is copying the other, but I can't tell which. Does anyone have experience with these two products and can anyone compare the two? Do they work? Is one better than the other? Or are they literally identical? Hi Richard One is made in UK and the other in the USA. I was told by the UK guy that the USA version was the copy but I don't have any other knowledge. I fitted the UK's original "Wear and Tear" pads at least 3 seasons ago on my coachroof after doing a retrofit of a German Mainsheet www.jeanneau-owners.com/hintsandtips/retrofitgermanmainsheet.html as can be seen in the image below the mainsheet when extended on a run/broad reach did rub against the gel of the cabin side - so I fitted the pads and they have been perfect and no sign of lifting etc - would definitely recommend them.
