Hi, I have purchased a 2006 Sun Odyssey legend, boat details say fuel tank is 28 gallons, sailboat data say's it's 35 gallons? Can anyone advise please? Thank you

I have a 2004 Sun Odyssey 35. The owner's manual states that the fuel tank is 34 gallons. I've never run it out, and therefore never put that much fuel in at one time. But it seems consistent with my experience.

I would guess that the fuel tank would hold 28 Imperial gallons (130 litres) or 35 US gallons (again 130 litres).

And a belated welcome to the forum. The SO35 is a great boat to sail and I am sure you will spend many happy hours together. Whenever you have problems you will find plenty of people here able to help,
Happy sailing.

Greetings and welcome -- You may want to check with Jeanneau factory. When we bought SoulMates, new, it listed a 45 gallon tank. She was purchased in Ct and part of the arrangement was she was to go to the Annapolis boat show. The delivery capt said he ran out of diesel on the way down. Then when we picked her up and headed to Fla we ran out going into a marina in SC, at the entrance by the way, and when we filled the tank it only took 35 gallons. Our broker called Jeanneau factory and found out for some reason they only put a 35 gallon tank on this boat. That is ok as long as we knew it and could plan for it.
By the way when we really set out we had a 50 gallon tank added and got rid of all our can except when we crossed the Atlantic. And for our crossing we carried 85 gallons in tanks and 25 gallons in cans in cockpit lockers. We used a whooping 19 gallons for our crossing.

Sounds like fun I have measured the tank & it is the 28 imperial gallon (35 US) one. Long way from your home waters to the med! I'm not planning to venture quite that distance, perhaps to Brittany next season.
