People who want to connect Volvo EVC-E generation to a Simrad (Navico) Autopilot have a small problem: the Volvo autopilot interface is no longer available (don't mix this one up with the N2K interface for engine information) The Volvo people tell you to go to Simrad to get an interface: the Simrad people tell you to go to Volvo to buy one. Volvo tells you to throw away you Simrad stuff (SG05 and RC42 rate compass) and buy the brand new Volvo autopilot system in stead. That autopilot system has a N2K output which you have to connect to a Navico plotter NSS8/12, B&G Zeus- touch) to get full autopilot functionality. Not wanting to trow away good and brand new, stuff (RC42/SG 05) Jeanneau was so nice to sent me a 'old' Volvo autopilot interface. Everything works fine now but the functionality of the joystick steering and autopilot control (new in the EVC-E version) is not supported this way. All together not a very professional aproach from the Volvo and Navico people towards their customers ( I think)
