I too replaced a Volvo seal with an Eliche Radice RMTA seal. The new seal has a water inlet, but you do not need to pump water into it. It is sufficient to take an open ended tube from the water inlet point to a position well above the waterline. By doing so water reaches the seal, and comes up the tube to waterline level, eliminating ait from behind the seal. A good squirt of silicone grease once a year keeps the seal working.

I had last year the same problem with my SO32 and indeed the leakage came from insufficient sikaflex on the outside between the flange and hull. Reinstalling the flang I have mounted on the inside a contra flange, because the polyester work round the pipe was very fragile and I was afraid that it would not hold the tightend nuts. I reported about it on the Dutch Jeanneau forum, with pictures.
