Hi, I recently bought a 16 foot ,1982 Jeanneau Arcachonnais motor boat. One matter has puzzled me and that is the purpose of a tube which comes up from the floor in the locker on the port side within the cabin.I think it is for bilge drainage but I had no pump supplied with the boat.If that is the case how do you check the depth of any bilge water and how do you get it out, what connections are required, there are no electrics on the boat.I intend to keep the boat on a lake all summer -Thanks for any advice-Regards

Maybe the pump has been removed by a previous owner? Congratulations on the Arcachonnais - might you be able to post a photo? eg at jeanneau-owners.com/photogallery.html there are very few good images of the older Jeanneau's around There was also a sailing version.
