i have a 2004 prestige 32. o believe they manufactured exhaust extensions for the 36 to prevent fumes back filling into the cockpit. does anyone have experience of these and have any pictures?

I have a 36 fitted with said extensions. They are basically rounded off 90 deg bends which exit under water. They work very well with the only (minor) problem being you cannot see the water coming out of the exhaust as it is now underwater! I will see if I can find any photo's.

Thanks for your reply Napoleon. Janneau are not very helpful in supplying info on these accessories. Apparently they're not sure if these extensions will fit a 32 (strange as they make them). Certainly would be grateful for any photos, also if you could inform me as to how far the extensions go under the water. I'm thinking of having some fabricated in silicone, so any technical info you have would be gratefully received.

Hi silem, Sorry I cant find any photo's which are suitable. However, they can be described as follows. They are 90 degree bends made of metal (cant tell what sort due to paint but I guess aluminum) and are about 10mm thick. They have a small flange (about 30mm wide) on each end one of which bolts directly onto the transom over each exhaust pipe. The bend extends somewhere between 100mm and 150mm below the waterline with the other flange now in a similar position to where a trim tab would be. The overall inside diameter is around 150mm although it is an oval shape I would guess between 150mm and 130mm width. The bend itself is rounded as it goes through the 90 degree bend presumably to give a smooth gas flow and also better aesthetics. When on the plane I imagine they take quite a pressure due to water flow at around 25 knots and I would think that silicone units would flex. They certainly work well and keep the black film that normally builds up on the bathing platform to a minimum. The boat is not due to come out of the water until Spring time so cannot send photo until then. Trust this info. useful.

Hi Silem, Have managed to find a general boat picture and have enlarged the bit that should be of interest. Not great detail but certainly enough to give the overall impression. They are a bit larger than I suggested (probably nearer 180mm overall) but I am sure you will get the idea. Regards, Napoleon
