Hi, we have a Merry Fisher 695 2001 standard spec with a Volvo Penta TAMD22 105hp engine. Prop is 3 blade, unknown size or pitch. The engine revs freely up to 4k, no lag or delay with revs, but despite an increase in engine noise the speed increases very slowly, it feels as if the boat if under-propped. Into a 2knot tide boat struggles to achieve 6 knots, with the tide 11-12 knots but this is at 3750rpm. We are thinking of chaning the prop but unsure how far to go. Anyone else had this problem, ideally the boat would have a 150hp unit, at 105hp it feels under powered for channel use.
